- Job Duties:
- Duties may include: Perform a variety of attending duties at amusement parks, carnivals, or recreation areas. Operate or drive mechanical riding devices or other automatic equipment. Direct patrons to rides, seats, or attractions. Assist patrons entering and exiting amusement rides, or mounting and dismounting animals, and assist them with fastening safety devices. Erect, take down, operate and sustain equipment, rides, and games. Set up booths by cleaning, stocking and preparing for service. Close down booths by packing up stock and tearing down. Clean and inspect equipment, vehicles, rides, booths, facilities, or grounds to detect wear and damage, and perform minor repairs or adjustments. Track inventories of equipment, store and retrieve items and assemble and disassemble equipment as necessary. Keep informed of shut-down and emergency evacuation procedures.
Hours, schedule and days may vary - typically working a 5–8-hour shift between 9:00 am to 5:00pm 42hrs./wk., extra hours may be required or available, may include weekends and holidays. Work needs subject to industry practice and are not guaranteed per day, per week, per schedule, per location or per worker, e.g., rainouts, brief periods without scheduled events, event dates and hours set by agreement with sponsor and subject to change (based upon adverse weather, hours of operation, day of the week, attendance, size of the event, amount of equipment in operation, staffing etc.) & other related Amusement and Recreation Attendants activities as per SOC/OES 39-3091 (onetonline.org).
Possible weekend/holiday work.
Overtime possible, but not required or guaranteed. At Employer’s sole discretion: possible raises and/or bonuses based on individual factors such as work performance or skill (not guaranteed). Optional, shared housing available at no cost to the worker.
