- Job Duties:
- Asphalt laborers will be handling hot mix asphalt and other construction material, pouring, shoveling, raking, smoothing, leveling, and setting of asphalt on driveways, roads, pathways, and parking lots, etc. Setup tools/equipment and prepare work area, follow project instructions from construction foreman and/or supervisor, measure, mark, or record openings or distances to layout areas where construction work will be performed, use hand tools/equipment to complete daily tasks (includes but not limited to shovels, rakes, loots, jackhammers, drills, saws, grinders, torches, etc.) assist with the loading and unloading of equipment and materials, thoroughly understand all aspects of the paving industry including preparatory work, grades, drainage, paving patterns, aggregate size, oil consistencies, compaction and other details related to asphalt paving; performing equipment maintenance duties such as cleaning, greasing and maintaining fluid levels on equipment, assist with equipment cleanup as needed, work outdoors in changing weather conditions, around hot asphalt and asphalt paving equipment, complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner, with high standards for quality and safety. Entry level; requires supervision.

- Must lift/carry 50 lbs., when necessary. Saturday and Sunday work required, when necessary. Driver's license required only of foreign and domestic workers who drive company vehicles (driving is not a requirement of all workers in the position). Employer may offer more than the stated work hours depending on weather, business needs, and other conditions. Extreme heat, cold, rain, or drought may affect exact working hours.
