Job Duties:

Directly supervise and coordinate activities of Grounds Laborers engaged in landscaping and tree care maintenance. Negotiate and review contracts to ascertain service, machine, and project requirements; answer inquiries from potential customers regarding tree care and landscaping services, methods, material, and price ranges; and prepare estimates according to labor, material, and machine costs. Establish and enforce operating procedures and work standards that will ensure adequate performance and personnel safety. Schedule work for crews, depending on work priorities, crew or equipment availability, or weather conditions. Monitor project activities to ensure that instructions are followed, deadlines are met, and schedules are maintained. Direct activities of workers who perform duties, such as landscaping, cultivating lawns, or pruning trees and shrubs. Oversee laborers in performing a wide range of tree care and grounds maintenance services, including pruning, trimming, raking, stump grinding, clearing and chipping tree debris and disposing of tree debris. Supervise and train laborers in performing general landscaping and groundskeeping and landscape maintenance work. Ability to lift up to 50lbs and bend, stoop and twist continuously throughout the day. Travel to worksite locations within Saratoga, Albany, Schenectady and Rensselaer Counties of NY.

Special Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 50lbs and bend, stoop and twist continuously throughout the day. 3 months of experience required as Landscaping or Grounds Laborer. On-the-job training will not be provided. The Ground Labor Supervisor will supervise a small crew of 2-3 employees. All tools/supplies req'd, provided at no cost. Travel to worksite locations within Saratoga, Albany, Schenectady, and Rensselaer Counties of New York. Saturday work required, when necessary. Hours may vary and overtime required based on weather and project need.
