- Prepare and cook to order a variety of foods with short preparation time. Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperature by regulating ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters. Perform food preparation tasks, such as making sandwiches, carving meats, making soups, salads, desserts. Ensure freshness of foods and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items and rotating stock. Clean food preparation equipment, work areas, and counters or tables
