Job Title: Water, Sewer, and Storm Drain Laborer
Job Summary: A water, sewer, and storm drain laborer is responsible for assisting in the installation, maintenance, and repair of water supply systems, sewer lines, and stormwater drainage networks. This position involves physically demanding work and the use of various tools and equipment to perform tasks related to underground utility infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Trench Excavation: Digging trenches and excavations using shovels, backhoes, or other equipment to access water, sewer, and storm drain lines.
Pipe Installation: Assisting in the installation of water pipes, sewer pipes, and storm drain pipes, as well as associated fittings and valves.
Repair and Maintenance: Participating in the repair and maintenance of existing water, sewer, and storm drain infrastructure, including identifying and addressing leaks, blockages, or damage.
Pipe Inspections:v Conducting visual inspections of pipes to assess their condition and identify any issues or potential problems.
Operating Equipment:
Operating \machinery and equipment, such as small backhoes, and pipe-cutting tools, safely and efficiently.
Safety Compliance:
Adhering to safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and ensure a safe work environment.
Material Handling:
Transporting and handling construction materials, pipes, fittings, and tools as needed.
Assisting Crew Members:
Collaborating with other team members, including plumbers, equipment operators, and supervisors, to complete projects efficiently.
Tool Maintenance:
Maintaining and cleaning tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
Documentation: Keeping records of work performed, including measurements, materials used, and progress reports.
