- Job Duties:
- Construction laborers will perform manual labor, such as moving sandbags, debris and hundreds of thousands of square feet of liner material used for water containment and landfill lining systems. There landfill liners are designed and constructed to create a barrier between the waste that is dumped in the landfill and the ground below it. When a new landfill is constructed, referred to as a landfill cell, the geomembrane liner and other geosynthetic products are installed. There liner materials are tested to ensure that leachate is channeled properly to a collection point rather than allowing leakage into the ground where it can become a hazard to groundwater and the surrounding environment/communities.
