- Job Duties:
- Duties may include: Weld and cut various metal objects to fabricate industrial machinery such as fans, duct work, boiler dampers, conveyers, and other proprietary equipment. Use ladders and scaffolding as necessary. Position and secure workpieces using chains, slings, and small overhead cranes. Select torches and tips according to project specifications. Dress electrodes to reshape tips for precise welds. Prepare surfaces ensuring no loose or thick scale, rust, moisture, grease, or other foreign material. Use blueprints and diagrams to accurately perform welds to specifications. Preheat workpieces and weld effectively in all positions. Use hand tools to clean excess weld, slag, or spatter from work. Operate hand and power tools such as tape measures, files, squares, scribes, turnbuckles, wedges, pry bars, banding machines, hoists, portable grinders & chippers, torches, tip dressers, heating furnaces, and MIG welders. Attend and participate in safety meetings and programs to create and maintain a safe working environment & other related Welder activities as per SOC/OES 51-4121 (onetonline.org). Possible weekend/holiday work. Overtime possible, but not required or guaranteed. At Employer’s sole discretion: possible raises and/or bonuses based on individual factors such as work performance or skill (not guaranteed).
