Job Duties:

Attend shaved ice food truck. Report to the employer's location at beginning of shift. Set up the KONA ICE truck before leaving with assigned driver to assigned location(s) for the day. Set up entails refilling freezers in truck with sufficient supply of bags of ice to prepare shaved ice. Ensure inventory of disposable cups, spoons, napkins, decorative Hawaiian leis on the truck is sufficiently stocked. Ensure flavor station containing syrups to top shaved ice is adequately stocked and ensure to have extra flavor syrup jugs, at least 2 extra gallons of each flavor. Ensure serving counter is clean and speakers to play Kona Ice music and decorative lights are in working condition to begin service. Upon arrival to sales site, turn on Kona Ice music and lights, open order window and flavoring station. Greet customers as they approach the order window, answers questions about the menu, take customers' orders, receive and process payment. Fulfill orders by shaving and shaping shaved ice in cups. Shaving ice entails loading ice cubes into the ice hopper, hold empty cup to the shaver, fill the cup by pressing the shaver button, shape the ice by pressing into the dome mold, apply syrups as requested by customers or allow self-serve at flavoring station on the side of the truck. Throughout the shift ensure the self-serve flavoring station where syrups are kept for customers to top the shaved ice is well stocked, clean and in working order. Follow sanitary protocols when handling preparation of shaved ice orders and supplies, maintain cleanliness of serving areas. Ensure freezers are maintained at the right temperature for the ice to produce the desired consistency when shaved. Complete closing duties and return with assigned truck driver to employer's location to conclude shift. Closing duties include putting away supplies, turning off music and lights at end of service, closing order window and flavoring station. Upon arrival to employer's location, clean shaved ice equipment, preparation areas and flavoring station, remove trash from truck, sweep/mop truck's floor, organize equipment to prepare shaved ice, lock freezers, report shortage of supplies that need to be re-stocked for the following shift, lock truck doors and windows. Report sales and any incidents or customer complaints that may have occurred during shift. Employer's location is located at 14506 Lee Rd. Unit I, Chantilly, VA 20151, employee reports to work and ends work at this location and, from there is taken by the driver of the truck to the assigned worksites to begin service. Assigned worksites are multiple locations within same MSA in Fairfax, Prince William County and Loudoun County only. Temporary Full-Time position- 40 hours work week to include weekends and holidays as needed. The Assistant Server does not drive the truck. Another employee is in charge of driving the truck from the employer's location to the assigned sites and back to the employer's location at the end of the work day.
