Job Duties:
***RFI Response*** The carpentry work to be performed will be building wood formwork as the basis for pouring the concrete structure. Basic concrete forms are essential to ensure the concrete sets in the desired shape. The formwork typically consists of plywood, 2x4, and 4x4 lumber. The lumber is connected to provide a surface for concrete to be placed against. The tools to be utilized will be various hand tools and power tools, such as a hammer, drill, screw driver, tape measure, square, and skill saw. ***Original F.a.2*** Fit together metal concrete forms. Build wood concrete forms. Align and set to grade metal and wooden concrete forms for holding concrete. Wrecking and cleaning concrete forms after placement. Place concrete in concrete forms, including using concrete vibrator and screeds. Level fresh concrete to desired grade and contour by use of trowels and floats. Pushing and pulling screed or template over the surface. Smooth the concrete surface with a float or straightedge. Set overhang jacks and build forms for bridge deck. Place concrete on bridge deck, including vibrating and finishing of concrete. Carpentry work necessary for miscellaneous components necessary to construct the bridge. Work will normally consist of using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments. Hand tools will be driven by compressed air, gasoline or electric to perform various types of work that may involve sawing, grinding, cutting, chipping, trenching, digging, and breaking of concrete on a project. Some work will require working at heights from elevated platforms and concrete forms. Some work will take place over water and from floating barges. Worker will be required to follow all company safety policies.

A minimum of one (1) year experience as a construction craft worker or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the necessary skills, knowledge and abilities to perform the job is required. The incumbent must: 1. Be able to communicate effectively and work well with other employees. 2. Be able to understand and follow specific directions from supervision. 3. Be able to submit and successfully complete any specific safety or job training that may be required by the customer, the job and/or the contract with the client. 4. Have the ability to work with close supervision. 5. Be capable of working within standards of accuracy as dictated by the customer. The incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable workplace accommodation. The individual must also be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required. This includes hard hat, safety glasses, respirators, ear plugs, steel toed shoes, personal flotation devices, or other protective equipment as required by the work performed and location the work is being done. In addition, Skilled Laborers must be capable of: Standing, stooping, kneeling, squatting, climbing or sitting for long periods of time. Repetitive movements by feet, shoulders, arms, writs, hands and back in performance work. Climbing vertical ladders to heights of 40-50 Working in confined spaces Working at elevated heights Lifting 100 lb. objects as required Carrying 75 lb. objects as required Adapting to extreme temperature changes Adapting to outdoor conditions and prolonged exposure Remaining calm during emergencies and respond appropriately as directed by the circumstances of the incident.
