- Groove Life is seeking to temporarily engage a Packaging Overhaul Project Manager to execute a unique packaging project that includes the overhaul of all of our wholesale packaging. The Packaging Overhaul Project Manager will coordinate closely with the merchandising vendor to facilitate the research and design process from conception to packaging samples. The overhaul project will involve a complete re-design of the company’s wholesale packaging. The Overhaul Project Manager will work with vendors and the in-house design team to create new visually appealing and brand-appropriate packaging. The Packaging Overhaul Project Manager will then use the company’s internal Packaging Process along with project management experience to ensure these samples are successfully sourced, all iterations designed, sampled, tested, and rolled out into the market successfully. Specific duties include the following: Ensure the successful development, execution, and completion of the Packaging Overhaul Project. Develop packaging overhaul plans, timelines, and determine budget. Define packaging overhaul project objectives and scope, ensuring alignment with company goals. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, production, quality control, and supply chain, to deliver packaging solutions that meet the company's objectives and quality standards. Provide critical input regarding how packaging design will ensure products are packaged effectively, meeting both functional and aesthetic requirements while adhering to quality standards and cost-efficiency goals.
Research packaging regulations, standards, and sustainability initiatives. Ensure that packaging materials comply with all relevant regulations. Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, engineers, and production staff. Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members and ensure clear communication. Oversee the design and development of packaging materials, considering aesthetics, functionality, and cost-efficiency. Identify and source appropriate packaging materials and suppliers. Request quotations and samples for the company’s approved vendor list before connecting with the internal sourcing team for further evaluation. Supply the internal quality control (QC) team with date packs, samples, and all details required for effective quality control testing. Facilitate inspections with the company’s QC team and evaluate test results to verify quality. Monitor project budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities, and manage project expenditures. Ensure project is completed within budget constraints.
Track project progress and milestones, identifying and mitigating potential delays. Ensure project is completed on time and within the defined timelines. Identify potential risks and issues related to packaging projects and develop contingency plans. Proactively address challenges to keep project on track. Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including specifications, designs, and progress reports. Provide regular updates to all parties on project status.
Normal hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm, with a one-hour unpaid lunch (7 hours per day, 35 hours per week).
The qualified individual will have a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent and at least 48 months of experience as a Project Manager, Event Planner, or another position related to project management.
