- Job Duties:
- •Installing sports field & golf course irrigation systems: commercial 2-Wire Decoder sprinkler systems w/ central control computer. Follow blueprint mapping/guidance, trench/excavate, lay pipe the appropriate depth w/ hand shovels/pipe pullers/mid-heavy equipment, run wire for control, install sprinklers, backfill trenches, set up controller, & test system. Utilize standard commercial irrigation products in a proprietary configuration; computers, controller, peripherals, & wiring. All controllers & equipment use existing electrical outlets. Beginner to mid-grade complexity duties are involved. Equipment connections requiring a plumber will be done by the appropriate licensed person
•Troubleshoot/repair electrical components, central irrigation control computers, irrigation pipe & adjustment tool, pressure gauge, flow meter, valve key, &/or mobile device to address/find observed problems (leaks, timing issues, changes to the system, etc) ensuring proper power, pressure, timing, zone activation, etc. Document steps taken to preserve for future issues. This does not require a licensed individual
•Perform general & seasonal system maintenance: sprinklers, valves, piping, wiring, & central computer continue operating as installed & designed throughout the season
•System start-ups (slow-fill pipes & system tests), evaluation, & winterization
•Perform irrigation system tests for the proper functioning of sprinklers & valves, recording all details. Activate zones with controller ensuring all sprinklers are working & watering the areas intended, making sure all sprinkler heads are performing as specified
•Locate, excavate (hand dig w/shovel), & repair or replace damaged or malfunctioning equipment: irrigation pipe, sprinklers, etc
•Responsible for the purchasing of repair parts: sprinkler heads, pipe, valves, irrigation fittings, wire, cables, etc., keeping accurate inventory. Purchasing parts will be required for repairs. Purchases required to facilitate repairs will be made & tracked through internal EVI PO processes. Due to any field changes, different materials may be required to complete the project efficiently. Employees may order any parts within project specifications. Materials purchased will be made through our authorized project supplier list. Equipment repair parts are ordered from the manufacturer's authorized dealer

• Installing sports field and golf course irrigation systems
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
• Strong understanding of field hydraulics, HDPE equipment, GPS systems, pump station operations
• Strong computer skills
• Ability to work alone and perform physically demanding tasks
• Install irrigation timers, piping and valves
• Troubleshoot and repair irrigation pipe and fittings, sprinklers heads
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical components and central irrigation control computers
• Perform general and seasonal system maintenance
• System start-ups, evaluation, and winterization
