- Job Duties:
- Under the direction of a supervisor, worker performs tasks involving physical labor at construction sites. Load and unload building materials, machinery, or tools, and distribute them to the appropriate locations. Operate hand and power tools such as air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments. Position or dismantle forms for pouring concrete, using saws, hammers, nails, or bolts. Maintain and tend pumps, compressors, or generators to provide power for tools, machinery, or equipment or to heat or move materials, such as asphalt. Dig trenches, backfill holes, and compact earth with walk behind compactor. Follows instructions from supervisors and implements construction plans for the day. Assist skilled tradespeople in their duties. Maintain a safe and clean job site by handling materials and storing them properly, picking up and removing all tools and equipment when not in use, and securing the job site daily. May drive company truck/vehicle to transport work crew, materials and tools to/from or at job sites. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
The employer will offer 40 hours of work per week, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. Shift includes 1 hour unpaid break time. Work on Saturday may be required. Hours and shift time may vary depending on weather and business needs.
Employer may increase wage based on experience, market conditions, and/or provide additional pay for performance and tenure. An overtime premium will be paid when required by Federal, State, or local law, including at time-and-a-half after 40 hours in a workweek. Generally, when overtime is available it will be paid at $31.07 per hour.
