Job Duties:

The employer is contracted by Department of the Navy to construct a runway project for the military at Tinian International Airport. For each of the job duties quoted, the masons will be building a concrete apron, concrete enclosures, and other miscellaneous concrete structures. They will smooth and finish placed concrete including on the slab, walls, and roof. The tools used include trowels, edgers, floats, and brooms. Read blueprints or drawings to calculate materials needed Lay out patterns, forms, or foundations according to plans Break or cut materials to required size Mix mortar or grout and spread it onto a slab or foundation Clean excess mortar with trowels and other handtools Construct masonry walls Align structures, using levels and plumbs Clean and polish surfaces with handtools or power tools Fill expansion joints with caulking materials Lay out and install rainscreen water systems Place concrete on formworks, slab on grade and pavement, then provide required concrete finish. Apply curing compound or blankets for curing concrete.
