Job Duties:

Duties include supplying material and moving harvested sugar cane to the proper destination. Workers will move harvested sugar cane, brought from farmers, from the dump area to the mill for processing. Employees will operate a front-end pay loader tractor to move cane from unloading area (feed and stack cane). Will either load the feed table for mill processing as cane has been deliver or stack it for later feeding. Minor maintenance to front-end payloader tractors as needed. Temporary, full-time positions, approx. 4 months of employment; willing to work 7 days a week, varying 12 hour shifts (12pm-12am; 12am-12pm); 84 hrs a week during harvest season, 40 hrs a week after harvest season until the end of the contract, overtime paid after 48 hours during harvesting and after 40 hours after harvesting; worker will have 30 minutes paid lunch break during the workday. A minimum of 3 months experience required in job offered in raw sugar mill industry. No minimum education required. No on the job training provided. A single workweek will be used in computing wages due. Wages are paid bi-weekly. Optional on-site lodging offered at no charge to workers hired in this temporary seasonal position. All Local, State and Federal Taxes will be deducted from employees pay check as stated in the law. The employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job. If applicable, daily transportation to and from worksite will be provided by employer. The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period.
