Job Duties:

Live-in Personal Care Aide (PCA) to assist a young adult female patient with activities of daily living in the home and the community. As a PCA you will be joining a supportive team of other PCA’s, therapists, and community members all working to enrich the life of the patient who is recovering from neurological tumor treatment. Responsibilities include: Mobility and navigation support through the home using gait belt and walker. Work with a cross-functional team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists to develop and practice habilitation exercises. Assist and encourage the patient with enriching community activities (ex: community volunteer events, social events). Research and schedule enrichment activities (ex: art classes, social events, cancer survivor events). Assist with personal grooming and hygiene (ex: toileting, bathing, dressing). Supervise eating to prevent choking. Engage the patient with enriching activities such as games, art/crafts activities, walks in the community. Basic meal prep. Provide medication reminders. Be on-call to provide protective supervision for epilepsy or emergencies overnight as needed. Coordinate with family members on care needs and plan.

MUST POSSESS A VALID U.S. DRIVERS LICENSE OR BE ABLE TO OBTAIN DRIVER'S LICENSE IN THE U.S. WITHIN 30 DAYS. Must be able to lift or carry up to 50lb. Pre-employment background check and driving record check may be required of foreign and domestic workers, at no cost to the worker. Drug testing required of foreign and domestic workers prior to commencing work and post-hire upon suspicion at no cost to workers. Hours can include overtime.
