- Job Duties:
- Perform tasks involving physical labor atconstructi on sites. May operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers,small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment andinstruments. Unload materials. Clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides ofexcavati ons, erect scaff olding, aluminum wall forms, and clean up rubble, debris, and other waste materials.Tend pumps, compressors, or generators to provide power for tools, machinery, or equipment. Lubricate, clean,or repair machinery, equipment, or tools. Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, oradjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials. Measure, mark, or record openings or distances to layoutareas where constructi on work will be performed. Positi on, join, align, or seal structural components, such asconcrete wall secti ons or pipes. Smooth or fi nish freshly poured cement or concrete, using fl oats, trowels,screeds, or powered cement fi nishing tools. Positi on or dismantle forms for pouring concrete, using saws,hammers, nails, or bolts.
