- Job Duties:
- Under direction of a licensed supervisor, use hand (machetes) or small power tools and equipment to maintain and restore environmentally protected wetlands and uplands in State and National Parks and Wildlife Management Areas from Central to South Florida; chemically treat (spray) invasive exotic and nuisance vegetation and trees; clear brush and debris, and apply herbicides as directed, in accordance with all laws and label instructions. Must be able to walk long distances, sometimes in water, carrying up to 30-pound backpack sprayer. May occasionally encounter wildlife including bees, snakes, and alligators.
