Job Duties:
One (1) temporary and full-time, live-in nanny and household assistant is sought in Madison, CT, for the period October 1, 2024 to June 15, 2025. The successful applicant will provide childcare to two children (a 4 year-old child and an infant under 1) and domestic assistance to the family, including: ensuring the safety of the children, helping to provide educational experiences deemed appropriate to the children’s development, preparing at least two meals per day for the children and for the whole family when requested, dropping off and picking up the children from off-site activities, transporting and accompanying the children for extracurricular activities, performing household chores including organizing, cleaning, laundry, trash/recycling removal, grocery shopping, dropping off and picking up dry cleaning. The successful applicant will be provided accommodation and full board in the family’s residence in Madison, CT. The successful applicant may be required to travel with the family to their home in St. Paul, MN (for approximately one month during the stated period of employment). All expenses incurred from travel with the family during the period of employment, including airfares, ground transfer, room and board, will be provided by the employer. The successful applicant will typically work 40 to 60 hours/week when both parents are in town, from 9:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday, and 9:30am to 2:30pm Saturday. During periods when one parent is away on business travel (totaling up to three months over the entire period of employment) the successful applicant will be asked to work additional and/or shifted hours at nights and weekends as needed. Typical hours during such a period are 7:30am-2:00pm, 4:00pm-7:30pm in addition to being on call overnight Mondays-Fridays, and 7:30am-12:30pm Saturdays. On-the-job training will be provided to the worker as needed. 24 months of experience as an in-home childcare provider is required. The successful applicant will be paid the prevailing hourly wage, calculated weekly and paid every two weeks. A single workweek will be used to compute wages due. All deductions from pay required by law will be made by the employer. Health care coverage will be provided. Two round-trip airfares from the successful applicant’s current city of residence will be provided. Subsistence costs accrued in transit to the family’s home up to $14.00/day or up to $59.00/day with receipts will be reimbursed at the time of the successful applicant’s arrival, and upon successful completion of the contract or dismissal by the employer before the end of the period, the same will be reimbursed for costs accrued in transit from the family’s home to the successful applicant’s city of residence. Four weeks of paid leave will be provided. All visa, visa processing, border crossing and other related fees, including those mandated by the government will be reimbursed by the employer upon the successful applicant’s arrival. All tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the duties assigned will be provided by the employer without charge or deposit charge to the successful applicant. The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period.
