Job Duties:

Operate JT24 directional drill. The JT24 directional drill is used for horizontal directional drilling (HDD). Directional drill operator, with his locator and a JT24 machine, performs horizontal underground drilling where he will pass conduits for fiber, water, gas and energy utility companies, putting all these conduits underground. Analyze the ground to be drilled. Conduct review protocols to verify the presence of underground utilities in the drill site. Use JT24 to drill the pilot hole. Monitor the location of the drill through the onboard panel on JT24, making corrections as needed. Pre-ream the underground hole to enlarge the hole to the desired size for the project. Attach swivel to drill rod and reamer. Conduct pipe pullback to clear the underground hole. Clean the drill site after drilling. Maintain safety through the use of visual aids and cones. Train company personnel in the use of JT24 directional drill.
