- Job Duties:
- Workers will perform job duties related to concrete/construction winterization/closing and winter care, such as ensuring worksite grounds are clear of snow and ice before beginning work due to winter temperatures. Workers will remove ice and apply salt when weather conditions are freezing; aside from winterization duties, workers will perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites. As concrete finisher, workers will perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites. Workers will mix, pour, or spread concrete, using portable cement mixers. Workers will smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete, such as floors, walks, sidewalks, roads, or curbs using a variety of hand and power tools such as floats, trowels, screeds, or powered cement finishing tools. Workers will position and dismantle forms for pouring concrete, using saws, hammers, nails, or bolts. Workers will operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments. Workers will measure and lay out commercial buildings. Workers will tend pumps, compressors, or generators to provide power for tools, machinery, or other equipment. Workers will operate concrete mixers, jackhammers, saws, and drills to break up concrete or pavement. Workers will position, join, align, or seal structural components, such as concrete wall sections or pipes. Workers perform construction worksite preparation duties such as building scaffolds, barricades, and bracing. Workers will unload materials, clean, and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, and aluminum wall forms, and clean up rubble, debris, and other waste materials.
