Job Duties:

1. Drive a tractor-trailer combination or a truck with a capacity of at least 26,001 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW). 2. Inspects mechanical condition and safety of truck and emergency equipment before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition. 3. Inspects loads to ensure cargo is secured. 4. Maintains logs of working hours, vehicle service, and repair status. 5. Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned. 6. Collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources, verifying instructions and routes. 7. Drive trucks to weigh stations before and after loading and along routes in compliance with state regulations. 8. Read and interpret maps to determine vehicle routes. 9. Operate equipment, such as truck cab computers, CB radios, phones, or global positioning systems (GPS) equipment to exchange necessary information with bases, supervisors, or other drivers. Additional requirement: The beneficiary is obliged to obtain a CDL license within 60 days upon his/her arrival.
