- Job Duties:
- Assist Head Coach in the management, implementation, and success of the alpine ski program. May work with athletes ranging in age from U16 to post-graduate. Assist in suggesting, developing, and implementing policies, programs and goals as they relate to the Alpine Program at large. Report directly to the Head Coach. Assist Alpine Program Director with events. Assist with Club-wide events, as needed.
ATHLETE TRAINING, PREPARATION & ADMINISTRATION: Assist in designing, monitoring and implementing individual yearly on-ski plan for athletes appropriate to their age group and experience level. In coordination with other coaches, manage athletes, equipment, create individual athlete/program calendar of events, manage S&C equipment, oversee and coordinate consistent and regular athlete evaluation processes, including on-hill skill assessments. Participate in all on-snow and S&C training sessions. Participate in Divisional and Regional coaching projects as necessary or required. Help organize on-snow and off-snow training camps. Assist in coordinating training and travel with other JHSC departments/groups as necessary. Communicate effectively with head coach, athletes, staff, and parents. Utilize video review/archiving online (Sprongo, Dropbox, etc.). Meet with athletes, coaches, and parents for program nights / explanations. Assist in developing and managing an athlete retention plan. Help with hill preparation for Pre-season training, JHMR training and races, SK training and races. Attend and hold meetings as necessary.
Provide guidance in the areas of sport psychology, nutrition and equipment selection, preparation, and maintenance. Act as a positive role model, inspiring, motivating, and positively influencing athletes.
TRAVEL: Help organize and arrange logistics for team travel. Transport JHSC athletes to races and projects. After each trip, direct athletes to properly clean up interior of the vehicle (with athletes) & fill out a Vehicle Log sheet after each trip. Report all expenses (with receipts) to the Alpine Program Director and Chief Operating Officer.
EQUIPMENT: Help maintain inventory records of all program related equipment. Help repair and maintain equipment as necessary.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: Review technical videos and publications. Attend professional development courses/seminars to upgrade/update personal skills.
Travel and coach team at regional ski competitions (competitions last 3 to 4 days) approximately once a month throughout the season. Lodging and transportation will be provided during travel for ski competitions with students.
May perform other job duties pursuant to 27-2022.00, Coaches and Scouts.
F.a.5a-F.a.6b: 40 hours/week. 8-hour shifts between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm. 6 days per week, Tuesday-Sunday.
F.b.8: $45,000 for 7 months
