Job Duties:
The Assistant Coaches – Alpine will perform the following duties: ATHLETE TRAINING, PREPARATION & ADMINISTRATION: Be on time to prepare equipment (gates, timing, video) for each training session. Support Head Coach and share coaching, set course, maintain course and track, responsible for video and timing, as directed by Head Coach. Be available to lead free-skiing sessions when necessary. Communicate effectively with athletes. Utilize video review / archiving techniques online (Sprongo, Dropbox, etc.). Meet with athletes, coaches, and parents for program nights/explanations. Assist with conditioning sessions. Assist with equipment recommendations and maintenance for all athletes. Administer goal setting, and along with Head Coach, keep track of each athlete’s goals and participate in athlete evaluation. Attend meetings as necessary. Attend end of year Awards Banquet. TRAVEL: Transport SBSTA athletes to races and projects. When directed by Head Coach, be ready to take charge of a project or a race trip as acting Head Coach. After each trip, direct athletes to properly clean up interior of the vehicle (with athletes). Fill out a Vehicle Log sheet after each trip. Report expenses (with receipts) to the Head Coach and Business office. EQUIPMENT: Assist with the repair and maintenance of equipment as necessary. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: Review technical videos and publications. Attend professional development courses / clinics / seminars to upgrade / update personal skills. Travel and coach team at divisional, regional, national, and international ski competitions (competitions last 3 to 6 days) throughout the season. Lodging and transportation will be provided during travel for ski competitions with students. May perform other job duties pursuant to 27-2022, Coaches and Scouts. F.a.5a-F.a.6b: 35+ hours/week. Tues-Sun 6-hour shifts between 8:00 am and 2:00 pm. 6 days per week, Tues-Sun. May work evenings, weekends, holidays, as needed. Schedule (including workdays) may vary. May work more than the guaranteed hours. F.b.8a: Workers will be paid no less than the salary listed. Employer may pay higher salary rates to workers based on seniority with employer and level of skill. F.b.8a: Depending on work conditions, the employer may offer workers performing certain tasks during certain periods of the season an opportunity to earn an incentive bonus over and above the guaranteed rate of pay set forth above. If offered, such incentive bonuses will be based on the quantity and quality of work performed and offered to all workers working on the activity(ies) and during the time period(s) when such incentive bonuses are offered. If an incentive bonus is offered, the fact that the bonus is to be offered and the manner in which the bonus will be determined, will be explained to all affected workers before the start of any work period or activity subject to such a bonus. Incentive bonuses are offered at the sole discretion of the employer, and no bonus or opportunity to earn a bonus is promised or guaranteed. F.b.8: $44,000.00 for 8 months

Special Requirements:
Must have 3 years of alpine ski racing as a top-ranked performer or 12 months of experience in alpine ski coaching. On-the-job training will be provided. Must be a certified ski coach or ski instructor equivalent to United States Ski and Snowboard (USSS) or have the ability to obtain coaching certification. Must be able to communicate well with athletes, staff, and parents.
