Job Duties:

Trims and/or removes trees by climbing with aid of safety belt, climbing line, powerered trimmer lifter truck, or works from the ground using hand or power saws, pruners, clippers to maintain right-of-way for roads, sidewalks, or utilities, or to improve appearance, health, and value of tree. Cuts branches/trunk sections and drops or lowers these to ground with lines. Clean up debris using a wood chipper and wedges/chainsaw. Spray stumps/brush to prevent further growth. May repair slight damage to lawns, fences and walks caused by tree trimming. Clean, sharpen, and lubricate tools and equipment. May clean work areas and equipment, safeguards employees and public from hazards in and around work area, load and unload equipment/materials/supplies. As included on the ONET website for 37-3013.00 (Tree Trimmers/Pruners), workers may also operate boom trucks, loaders, stump chippers, brush chippers, tractors, power saws, trucks, sprayers, and other equipment and tools. Must follow all safety regulations and Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC safety guidelines, including but not limited to employer-provided personal protective equipment.

Special Requirements:

Requires six months of tree trimming/climbing experience or equivalent commercial tree trimming/climbing training certification. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday work required, when necessary. Employer-paid drug testing required of foreign and domestic workers prior to commencing work and post-hire at random, upon suspicion of use, and post-accident. Post-hire background check and employment eligibility (e-Verify) check required of foreign and domestic workers. Average tree height is 60-70 feet. Employer may offer more than the stated work hours depending on weather, business needs, and other conditions. Extreme heat, cold, rain, or drought may affect exact working hours.
