Job Duties:
Perform manual labor to landscape and maintain commercial and residential grounds of property. Operate powered equipment, such as push mowers, zero turn mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, chain-saws, electric clippers, sod cutters, or pruning saws. Use hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, shears, hedge or brush trimmers, string trimmers, blowers, stick edger’s and axes. Water lawns, trees, or plants, using portable sprinkler systems, hoses, or watering cans. Prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges, using shears, pruners, or chain saws on the ground. Apply fertilizers, herbicides, or insecticides onto grass, shrubs, or trees, using hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders under direction of licensed chemical applicator. Care for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing, removing thatch, or trimming or edging around flower beds, walks, or walls. Follow planned landscaping designs to determine where to lay sod, sow grass, or plant flowers or foliage. Trim or pick flowers and clean flower beds. Attach wires from planted trees to support stakes. Plant seed, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, or shrubs and apply mulch for protection, using gardening tools. Mow or edge lawns, using power mowers or edger’s. Rake, mulch, and compost leaves. Provide proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, burial sites, or other grounds features. Install irrigation systems. Irrigation trenches are 6”x6”. Trenches are dug in order to lay pipe for irrigation systems. Shovels and pick axes are used to dig trenches. Maintain irrigation systems, including winterizing the systems and starting them up in spring. Cultivate lawns or gardens. Maintain or repair tools, equipment, using hand or power tools and notify management of needed repairs. Haul or spread topsoil. Gather and remove litter. Job requires being pleasant with others on the job, displaying a good-natured, cooperative attitude, and working as a member of a team which includes hearing and speaking. Must be reliable, responsible, and dependable. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential responsibilities. All work is completed under supervision of a crew leader. Workers who have a valid driver's license may drive vehicles to transport workers and may be offered more hours.

Must possess a working knowledge of standard horticultural practices, including but not limited to planting, pruning, corrective pruning, and fertilization. Must be physically able to stand, walk, crouch, stoop, kneel, reach, lift and/or move up to 80 pounds and tolerate occasional exposure to homeowner's pets. Smoke free workplace. Drug free workplace. Pre-employment, upon suspicion, and post- accident drug testing and background checks will be carried out equally between U.S. workers and H-2B workers at employers expense. Negative results required prior to starting work. Background checks are conducted at the employers expense. Generally we do not employ persons convicted of sex related crimes, theft, violent crimes or drug related crimes. Individual circumstances are taken into consideration. Employer may offer more than the stated work hours depending on weather, business needs, and other conditions. Extreme heat, cold, rain, or drought may affect exact working hours.
