- V.R.’s Inc. dba Van Rensselaer’s Restaurant & Raw Bar seeks Line Cooks, 7 openings, Temporary full-time positions from 4/1/25 to 11/15/25 in South Wellfleet, MA. Line Cooks: Responsible for cooking tasks, including: read food slips, wash, cut, portion, season and cook menu items including and not limited to soups, salads, sides and entrees according to instruction and direction from Chefs and management. Line cooks will prepare meals/foods which include components of the menu items. Some require short preparation time and some require relatively longer preparation time. All menu items must be prepared and served as quickly as possible. Line Cooks will clean work areas and food preparation equipment. Must be able to lift and carry food and kitchen supplies weighing up to 40 lbs. No experience necessary; will train. Workers will be paid no less than $20.97 per hour; Returning workers and workers with more experience may be paid higher wage rates up to $26.00 per hour. Overtime hours may be available at a rate ranging from $31.46 to $39.00 per hour. Generally: min. of 35 hours per week, 7 hours per workday, 5 workdays per week, weekends and holidays required, various shifts available but normally 7am-2pm or 3pm-10pm daily. Conditions of employment for H2B and U.S. workers: 1. Initial transportation to begin the seasonal/peak employment (including meals and, to the extent necessary, lodging) to the place of employment will be provided, or its cost to workers reimbursed, if the worker completes half the employment period. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Return transportation will be provided if the worker completes the employment period or is dismissed early by the employer. Daily subsistence will be at least $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts. 2. H-2B workers will be reimbursed during the first workweek for subsistence, visa, visa processing and related costs, except passport costs, by company check. 3. The employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job. 4. The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period. 5. The Employer will use a single work week for computing wages starting each Sunday at 12:00 am and ending Saturday 11:59 pm and the employee will be paid weekly. 6. Optional, voluntary limited, motel style, shared room and bathrooms housing available, first come first served while available, for a weekly fee of $150.00, due every Friday by 3pm (not deducted from payroll). 7. Health insurance available after 90 days of full-time employment. 8. The employer will make deductions from worker's paycheck required by law. 9. Employees with more experience, or returning employees, may be offered a higher wage rate.
