- Job Duties:
- The Stonemason Helper assists the Journeyman and Foreman with various tasks on the job site to ensure they have all the proper tools and equipment to lay stone/brick/block. The Stonemason Helper is required to complete work safely, with quality and within productivity specifications as directed by the foreman or superintendent. Prepares surfaces and mortar to lay brick, block and/or stone. Assists masons to lay brick, block and/or stone and ensures masons have proper tools and equipment needed. Maintains a clean job site and workspace by cleaning all tools, equipment, and materials. Assists to spread concrete using rake/shovel. Participates in daily huddles and practices safety as a priority on all job sites. Under supervision of foreman, cut building materials, such as travertine, ceramic tile, glass tile, stones, or other substances. Prepare worksite and materials using tools such as a wet saw, wheelbarrows, shovels, trowels, and transit levels. Clean work areas and equipment, as needed.
