Job Duties:

Rake and shovel asphalt. • Operate a roller and compact • Dump windrows from belly and double belly trucks. • Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards. • Control traffic passing near, in, and around work zones. • Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials. • Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, and compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, and rakes. • Measure, mark, and record openings and distances to lay out areas where construction work will be performed. • Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards. • Read and interpret plans, instructions, and specifications to determine work activities. • Operate masonry block machines, as assigned Work with hydraulic, pneumatic, industrial electrical systems and controls • Monitor the operation of cuber, conveyor, stretch wrap machine, block machine and other nearby equipment to detect and report malfunctions. • Visually inspect products and by-products for conformity to prescribed quality standards such as color, shape and corners. Remove poor quality products and by-products as required.
