Job Duties:
Assist skilled roofers in the installation, repair, and replacement of roofing systems on residential and commercial structures. Support the application of various roofing materials including shingles, slate, asphalt, and metal. Aid in waterproofing and insulation tasks. Help with roof inspections, surface preparation, and ensure proper handling of roofing components. Work involves physical labor, basic use of hand tools, and adherence to safety protocols. Key Responsibilities: Assist skilled roofers in all aspects of roofing work. Help carry and distribute roofing materials to work areas. Support the application of roofing materials as directed. Aid in preparing roof surfaces and installing underlayment. Assist with clean-up and disposal of old roofing materials. Set up and maintain ladders and scaffolding safely. Operate basic hand tools under supervision. Follow safety procedures and wear protective equipment at all times. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly. Climb ladders and work at heights. Stand, walk, kneel, and bend for extended periods. Work in various weather conditions (hot, cold, wet). Perform repetitive movements and use hands for manual tasks. Work Environment: Outdoor work in all weather conditions. Exposure to heights, noise, and potential hazards. May involve working in confined spaces. Requires wearing protective equipment. No formal education or prior roofing experience required. On-the-job training provided.
