Job Duties:
***RFI Response*** The cement masons are to smooth, align and finish surfaces of floors, walks, sidewalks, curbs, roads, and runways. In addition to trowels, edgers, floats, and brooms that were indicated in the PWD application, the cement masons may also use power saws, concrete spreaders, curing compound equipment, wheel barrows, and shovels. ***Original F.a.2*** Read blueprints or drawings to calculate materials needed. Layout patterns, forms, or foundations according to plans. Break or cut materials to required size. Mix mortar or grout and spread it onto a slab or foundation. Clean excess mortar with trowels and other handtools. Construct masonry walls. Align structures, using levels and plumbs. Clean and polish surfaces with headtools or power tools. Fill expansion joints with caulking materials. Lay out and install rainscreen water systems. Place concrete on formworks, slab on grade and pavement, then provide required concrete finish. Apply curing compound or blankets for curing concrete. The tools used include trowels, edgers, floats, and brooms.
