Reports To: Kitchen Manager
Work hours: Morning Shift: 7 AM to 3 PM (1-2 HOUR BREAK depending on the business)
Night Shift: 3 PM to 10 PM
Work days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
Job Summary:
The Food Preparation and Serving Worker plays a key role in kitchen operations by preparing ingredients, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and assisting with various tasks as directed by the Kitchen Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Ingredient Preparation:
• Wash, peel, chop, and prepare vegetables and other ingredients according to recipes and standards.
• Accurately weigh and measure ingredients, following portion control guidelines.
• Store prepared ingredients properly for future use
• Assist in preparing simple dishes, such as vegetables, and side items, according to instructions
Kitchen Maintenance:
• Clean and sanitize work areas/dining areas, equipment, utensils, and dishes.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring proper food storage
• Stock food supplies, beverages, and condiments, keeping inventory organized and accessible.
Food Safety and Sanitation:
• Follow all food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Maintain proper hygiene and handwashing practices.
• Ensure food is stored and handled correctly to prevent spoilage and contamination.
Other
• Assist with other kitchen duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager.
Work Conditions: Indoor, in a fast-paced kitchen environment with moderate heat.
Equipment Used: Knives, conventional oven, weight scales, dishwashers, cutting machines, meat tenderizer, and other kitchen equipment.
Mental Demands: Requires attention to detail, accuracy, and adherence to quality standards.
Physical Demands: Prolonged standing and frequent walking in warm conditions. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Safety and Health Responsibilities: Wears required protective apparel and observes all safety and hygiene practices.
Minimum Qualifications: No formal education or experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications: Basic English reading and verbal communication skills.
