Job Duties:

Tennis Professionals will be responsible for giving lessons and clinics to members and guests on the techniques and strategies of tennis and pickleball under the guidance of the Director of Racquets and Recreation. Greet and provide service to members when inside and on duty. This includes pro shop sales, front desk duties consisting of billing members for their tennis/pickleball lessons and for any pro shop purchases such as tennis/pickleball attire or merchandise, game arranging, phone calls and computer work consisting of making reservations for tennis and pickleball court times and lessons to assist in the overall success of the tennis program. Organize team practice schedules and league schedules with Team Captains and league officials by arranging members to play in matches, inviting members from other clubs to play in matches and tournaments and setting up the schedules for matches/tournaments. Assure the organization of courts players, opposing teams, and refreshments are properly arranged. Watch and critique matches. Assist in the organization of all Club tournaments and events. Share court maintenance daily duties of grooming the tennis/pickleball courts by dragging with a steel rake and lining the courts with a lining tool, and assume all responsibilities on facility technician’s days off which are to maintain cleanliness of facilities and courts. String rackets when needed and make light racket repairs. Provide all members and guests with courteous, prompt and professional attention. Schedule: 35 hours per week. Work schedule can vary and can include evening, weekend, and holiday hours. Work may be performed on any day of the week from Monday through Sunday. Special Requirements:

The Petitioner will consider for employment any person who possesses a High School Diploma, general education degree (GED) or its equivalency, and at least a minimum of one (1) year of experience of teaching tennis and pickleball. Certification with Racquet Sports Professionals Association (RSPA) as a Tennis Level 1 Instructor. (If not certified, must take and pass test within first three months of employment). Applicant must complete pre-employment background check and drug screening at employer's expense.
