Job Duties:

Assist automotive technicians with basic maintenance and repair tasks such as removing and reinstalling parts, preparing tools, and providing logistical support throughout repair processes; Prepare vehicles for service by cleaning, lifting, and positioning them in the service area; Hand tools and parts to mechanics during repairs and maintenance; Perform simple and supervised maintenance duties including changing oil and oil filters, replacing air filters, inspecting and refilling fluid levels replacing windshield wipers, and rotating tires; Keep the work area clean and organized by sweeping, disposing of trash, and returning tools to proper storage; Move and park customer vehicles safely within the shop premises; Assist in inspecting vehicles by checking tire pressure, battery status, and fluid leaks; Help maintain the shop's inventory of tools, parts, and supplies by checking stock levels, labeling inventory, organizing materials on shelves, and promptly reporting shortages to supervisors; Follow all company and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)-compliant safety procedures and guidelines at all times. These include wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety goggles, and steel-toe shoes; adhering to lockout/tagout procedures when working around electrical or hydraulic systems; using proper lifting techniques; keeping flammable or hazardous materials in approved containers; and ensuring walkways and work zones remain free from obstructions or spills. All tasks are to be performed in compliance with the shop's standard safety protocols and under supervision.
