Full Time:
Yes
Number of Workers Requested:
15
Job Duties:
***RFI Response*** The employee will work in the electric vehicle battery manufacturing industry, specifically on the production of lithium-ion battery cells. The role includes mechanical assembly and adjustment of key manufacturing equipment used in the core battery production process. The employee will perform mechanical assembly and adjustments on:  Lamination Machines: Machines that produce individual battery cells by aligning, cutting, and thermally pressing anode, cathode, and separator materials.  Stack Machines: Equipment that aligns and stacks the cells using vision alignment technology to produce stack-type cells.  Folding Machines: Machines that fold electrode materials into compact cell structures using vision systems and separator integration.  Packing Machines: Equipment that handles lead cutting, bending, and stacking processes to produce modules such as CMA, S-BMA, and BMA. Vision Inspection Systems: Equipment for dimensional inspection and precise alignment verification of battery cells. 2. Electrical Work and Cable Management: All machines utilize electric power ranging from 110V to 250V. The employee is responsible for:  Managing electrical wiring for sensors, relays, and switches.  Diagnosing and replacing faulty electrical components based on appropriate voltage and resistance specifications.  Collaborating with the electrical team to ensure system functionality and compliance with safety standards.  Ensuring accurate and safe cable routing and grounding for machine operation and maintenance. 3. Types of Processes, Equipment, Systems, and Projects: The employee will work in a high-tech EV battery manufacturing environment covering four major stages:  Electrode Process: o Mixing: Creating electrode slurry from active materials and binders. o Coating: Applying slurry to foil substrates (cathode on aluminum, anode on copper). o Roll Pressing: Calendering coated foils for uniform thickness and density. o Slitting and Notching: Cutting and shaping foils to cell specifications.  Assembly Process: o Stacking or Folding: Creating pouch-type battery structures. o Welding: Terminal and cap welding for electrical connectivity. o Injection and Sealing: Electrolyte injection and pouch sealing.  Formation and Aging: o Charging/Discharging: Activating electrochemical properties. o Degassing: Removing gas generated during the formation process.  Packaging and Final Testing: o Inspection: Grading battery performance and screening for defects. o Packing and Shipping: Preparing completed cells for distribution. The technician will work with battery manufacturing machines, automation systems, pneumatic controls, motion control systems, and in cleanroom environments. This work is part of industrial-scale manufacturing projects supporting the EV supply chain in the U.S ***Original Duties*** • Utilize a variety of hand tools including wrenches/spanners (including hex key/Allen wrench in mm/inch and torque wrench) for mechanical assembly and adjustment. • Operate various types of screwdrivers (flathead, Phillips, precision sets) for fastening and unfastening components. • Handle multiple types of pliers including diagonal pliers (nippers), long nose pliers, and wire strippers for electrical work and cable management. • Use hammers such as rubber mallets, standard hammers, and dead blow hammers for fitting, adjusting, or dismantling components. • Cut and trim materials using utility knives and scissors safely and efficiently. • Perform electrical measurements using a digital multimeter to check voltage, current, and resistance. • Conduct insulation testing to ensure safety and compliance with electrical standards. • Maintain tools and equipment in good condition and ensure they are stored properly after use. • Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
