Job Duties:
***RFI Response*** The operator is responsible for tasks involving physical labour our solar cell manufacturing facility and will be required to operate monitor and maintain a range of automated and semi-automated production equipment used in the fabrication of solar cells. The operator will be responsible for the efficient production of products according to established procedures following all safety protocols and workplace policies to ensure profitable business operations. Primary Responsibilities: • Wafer preparation: Including cleaning, texturing, and doping of silicon wafers. • Monitor high-temperature furnace processes to introduce dopants and apply metal contacts. • Etching and coating: Use of chemical baths and deposition tools to create anti-reflective coatings and surface passivation layers. • Screen printing and drying: Applying front and back conductive pastes using screen printers, followed by curing and drying steps. • Testing and quality control: Performing electrical and optical testing of cells (e.g., IV curve measurements, electroluminescence imaging) to ensure product specifications are met. • Operate solar cell manufacturing tools such as PECVD/PVD/laser scribing and edge systems/screen printers and drivers/Automated optical inspection systems and more. • Manufacturing of monocrystalline and polycrystalline silicon solar cells • Support for product development, process and tool optimization initiatives to improve cell efficiency, yield, tool OEE & cost improvement • Involvement in pilot production runs for new technology generations (e.g., PERC, TOPCon, or HJT cells) • Participation in continuous improvement projects such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen & etc to reduce waste and enhance throughput • Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Canadian Solar Solution Code of Business Conduct Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures ***Original F.a.2*** The Production Operator is responsible for tasks involving physical labor in a manufacturing plant and will be required to operate a variety of hand and power tools. The Production Operator will be responsible for the efficient production of products according to established procedures following all safety protocols and workplace policies to ensure profitable business operations. Primary Responsibilities: • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications • Assemble circuits requiring fine hand assembly • Check final assembly for finish, labelling and packaging methods • Check mechanical dimensions and perform go-no-go electrical tests • Identify and mark acceptable and defective assemblies • Perform simple electrical and continuity testing of electronic components, parts, and systems • Collect, record, and summarize inspection results • Complete manual assembly, cleaning, testing, inspection work as per work instructions • Prepare and sort material as per work instruction, load/unload material onto machine or manual workstations • Connect cables, tubes and wires to complete assemblies and installations • Operate and tend automated assembling equipment such as robotic and fixed automation equipment • Conduct cosmetic, functional inspection as per work instruction, Mark, record, and report defects • Clean and perform preparation of worksite, workstation, and machines • Work with equipment operators to facilitate machine alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery equipment, and materials • Completion of other duties and projects as assigned
