Job Duties:

Manually gather and bale longleaf pine straw from forested areas for commercial resale. Remove debris and non-usable material from straw by hand. Rake, load, and stack pine straw bundles for transport. Operate small tractors under 30 HP, with mini-baler. Maintain cleanliness of work areas by clearing excess straw and debris. Assist with site preparation, including clearing underbrush or maintenance of harvesting areas. Work is performed outdoors in varied weather conditions and on uneven terrain. In addition to pine straw harvesting, workers will perform basic landscaping tasks such as spreading pine straw and mulch, planting flowers or shrubs, trimming hedges, mowing lawns, pulling weeds, and general grounds maintenance. Work may involve loading and unloading landscaping materials, laying sod, or cleaning up job sites. Requires physical stamina and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the day.
