Job Duties:

Perform variety of attending duties at traveling carnival, such as operate mobile food concessions by taking orders & serving food & beverages. Details of tasks that may be involved in this position: Taking orders & serving food & beverages, preparing food & beverages, serving customers at the counter or steam table, & may maintain cleanliness of the dining area. May communicate with customers regarding orders; scrub counters, steam tables & other equipment & clean fountain equipment; accept payment from customers & make change as necessary; perform cleaning duties, such as sweeping, mopping & washing serving devices, to keep equipment & facilities sanitary; serve food, beverages , or desserts to customers attending fair or festival ;prepare daily food items, & prepare simple foods & beverages & other fair foods; wrap menu items for serving. Funnel Cakes, Corn Dogs, Lemonade & French Fries. Items would be cooked in deep fryers. The workers would stand in front of the specific unit. A portion of the batter would be taken from the container mixed in & scooped using a large ladle into the funnel cake pourer. The batter would be poured into the basket, in one general location, when one side of the funnel cake is brown, the worker would use a large spoon to flip the half-cooked funnel cake. When the funnel cake is fully cooked its placed into a tray to allow the grease to drain while keeping the funnel cake at a proper serving temperature. Same process is done for corn dogs. In a cutting board & knife, the lemons would be cut in half. See through plastic cups & lids would be brought from storage. Worker serving lemonade would stand at the front counter, communicating with the customer. After taking the order, would scoop ice into a cup, pick up (with gloved hand), & squeeze Lemon Juice into the cup. Pre-mixed sugar water would be poured into the cup, & then the product would be served with lid & straw to the patron after payment. The worker would pour prepackaged frozen fries into a fryer when the timer goes off the basket raises itself automatically to drip the hot grease back into the fryer, then the worker when the second buzzer sounds, would pick up the basket with gloved hand, dump onto a tray, sprinkle with salt & place into the appropriate container.
