Job Duties:
Assist in the performance of all aspects of the purse boat operation. Tasks assigned to this position include, but are not limited to, working with nets, net deployment, retrieving equipment, and bailing fish from net to the steamer. Fishermen are also responsible for maintaining the vessel in a sanitary, organized condition. Complete all tasks safely. Report all hazards, accidents, injuries, or environmental excursions to Captain or a member of the management team immediately. Follow all terms/conditions of Fisherman's Agreement.

Special Requirements:
ONE MONTH PURSE SEINING EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. MUST BE ABLE TO WORK IN COLD, WET, HOT, AND HUMID WEATHER AND BE ABLE TO WORK ON FEET IN BENT, STOOPED OR STANDING POSITIONS FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME. MUST BE ABLE TO LIFT AND PULL UP TO 50 LBS CONSISTENTLY ALL DAY LONG. BACKGROUND CHECK AND POST-OFFER, PRE/POST-EMPLOYMENT DRUG SCREENING WILL BE CARRIED OUT EQUALLY BETWEEN THE US WORKERS AND THE H2B WORKERS. MUST PASS POST-OFFER, PRE-EMPLOYMENT PHYSICAL EXAM AT EMPLOYERS EXPENSE. THESE REQUIREMENTS ARE FOR ALL US AND H-2B WORKERS. OBSERVING SAFETY PROCEDURES AND THE PROPER USE OF SAFETY DEVICES IS A CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT. Days and shifts may vary. Holidays, weekends, and evenings required as needed. Employer reserves the right to pay a higher wage, rate, or bonus to any worker in their sole discretion based on performance, skill, tenure, or experience. Optional employer housing is available on the vessel at no cost to the worker. Depending on the fish catch, workers have the ability to be paid anywhere from the prevailing minimum wage determination to $52/hour. Typically, the average is the PWD to $30/hour. Employer will provide paid on the job training. Employees must be at least 18 years of age. Employer reserves the right to perform randomized drug testing at the employer's expense.
