- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, scraping, patching, and priming. Apply paints, stains, varnishes, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment. Mix and match paint colors to achieve desired results. Protect surrounding areas with drop cloths, tape, or covers to prevent damage. Repair and maintain painted, stained, and varnished surfaces. Operate and maintain painting tools, equipment, and supplies. Follow safety procedures, including proper use of protective gear and ventilation practices. Work efficiently to complete projects within deadlines while ensuring quality workmanship
