Water lawns, trees, and plants using portable sprinkler systems, hoses, or watering cans. Use irrigation methods to adjust the amount of water consumption and to prevent waste. Follow planned landscaping designs to determine where to lay sod, sow grass, or plant flowers and foliage. Plant and cultivate lawns and gardens. Use a garden hose to fill the pond with adequate water supply. Install drainage systems by using shovels and wheelbarrows to excavate a 12-inch wide and 16-inch deep trench for 4-inch drain tile. Length of this trench could vary depending on the drainage installation. Use shovels and wheelbarrows to fill in the trench with either gravel or soil depending upon the job. Use wheelbarrows, shovels, and landscape rakes to cover the drain tile with topsoil.
