Job Duties:
Duties may include: Use hands and knives to cut, and to pick meat from crabs and crawfish. Use hands and knives to trim and separate crabs, crawfish and byproducts. Rinse, weigh and prepare crabs and crawfish and crab meat and crawfish meat for picking and packing. Work area preparation and cleanup & other related Meat, Poultry, and Fish Cutters and Trimmers activities as per SOC/OES 51-3022 (onetonline.org). Standard/Expected Schedule: Monday-Friday 6:00AM-3:00PM. Offering 40+ (plus) hours per week; not including applicable lunch and/or breaks. Possible weekend/holiday work. Start/end times, offered hours and/or overtime could vary as they may be dependent upon other factors such as project/schedule/service needs, weather, and commute time between worksites (if applicable). Overtime possible, but not required or guaranteed. At Employer’s sole discretion: possible raises and/or bonuses based on individual factors such as work performance or skill (not guaranteed).

Special Requirements:
Must show proof of legal authorization to work in the United States. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Perform physical activities: such as lift, balance, walk, stoop, handle, position, move, manipulate materials use static strength to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, carry objects up to 40lbs. All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform work described and must be available for the entire period specified.Based on Employer's discretion/cost: Worker may have random drug/alcohol testing during employment: positive test/refusal to abide = dismissal. Delivery and availability of seafood product from fisherman may result in possible downtimes due to weather conditions. After 5 days must be able to handpick 4 lbs. per hour of shell free crabmeat or crawfish tail meat, or be able to de-back,clean and pack 35 lbs per hourof processed raw crab. In order for the worker to be invited back by Pontchartrain Blue Crab, they must meet Pontchartrain's standards in food safety and workplace conduct during the duration of their contract with the employer. It is at the employers sole discretion as to which workers will be invited back to work with PBC at the next seasons start.
