Job Duties:

Operates equipment used for applying asphalt concrete, asphalt, or other materials to road beds, parking lots, or airport runways and taxiways or for tamping gravel, dirt, or other materials. Includes asphalt paving roller operators, form tampers, tamping machine operators, and stone spreader operators. Uses roller to create an asphalt surface that is structurally sound as well as smooth. Maintains machine and reports any malfunctions to supervisor. Keeps track of work locations, activities performed, and fuel usage, and documents this information on time tickets.

Special Requirements:

Requires six months of roller operator experience. Must lift/carry 50 lbs., when necessary. Saturday work required, when necessary. Employer-paid drug testing required of foreign and domestic workers prior to commencing work and post-hire post-accident. Post-hire background check required of foreign and domestic workers. Employer may offer more than the stated work hours depending on weather, business needs, and other conditions. Extreme heat, cold, rain, or drought may affect exact working hours.
