- Job Duties:
- Duties may include: Building, repairing, and reconstructing residential and commercial concrete bridges, highways, roads, driveways, sidewalks, inlets, curbs & gutters. Workers will perform a variety of tasks such as clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards. Load, unload, or identify building materials, tools, or equipment required, distributing them to their appropriate locations. Dig ditches or trenches and backfill, compact, and level earth to grade specs using hand tools or plate compactors. Position, align, brace, support, and dismantle forms for pouring concrete. Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, or adjustment of materials (concrete pour). Shovel and rake to move and level poured wet concrete, in preparation for concrete finishers. Will train all employees in the use of tools and equipment in a proper and safe manner. Hand tools include, but are not limited to tape measures, hammers, levels, picks, rakes, shovels, sledges, and wheelbarrows. May use power equipment such as battery powered drills, saws, compressors, generators, jackhammers, plate compactors, pumps, loaders, and skid loaders. Lubricate, clean, or repair tools, or equipment & other related Construction Laborer activities as per SOC/OES 47-2061 (onetonline.org). Standard/Expected Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00AM-5:00PM. Offering 40+ (plus) hours per week; not including applicable lunch and/or breaks. Possible weekend/holiday work. Start/end times, offered hours and/or overtime could vary as they may be dependent upon other factors such as project/schedule/service needs, weather, and commute time between worksites (if applicable). Overtime possible, but not required or guaranteed. At Employer’s sole discretion: possible raises and/or bonuses based on individual factors such as work performance or skill (not guaranteed).
