Job Duties:

Conduct youth recreation activities with groups in public or private, primarily at sports recreation facilities. Organize, lead, and promote interest in recreational youth sports activities. Explain fundamentals, techniques, rules, and safety to participants in recreational youth sports and demonstrate use of materials and equipment. Greet new arrivals, introducing them to other participants, explaining facility or activity rules, and encouraging participation. Assess the needs and interests of individuals and groups and plan activities accordingly, given the available equipment or facilities. Administer first aid according to prescribed procedures and notify emergency medical personnel when necessary. Direct special activities or events. Schedule use of facilities. Enforce rules of recreational facilities to maintain discipline and ensure safety. Evaluate recreation areas, facilities, and services to determine if they are producing desired results. Communicate with participants and guardians by email and phone as needed. Develop goals and daily lessons, and document individual or group progress.

Special Requirements:

Must be able to stand for long periods, run, jump, and lift up to 50 pounds. 6 months experience required as Activity Coordinator or related. 35 Hours/Week; Split Shift Mon, 10:00AM-11:00PM, 4:30PM-8:30PM, Tues-Thurs 10:00AM-1:00PM, 4:30PM-8:30PM; Fri 10:00AM-12:00PM, 4:30PM-8:30PM; SAT 10:00AM-2:00PM; SUN 10:00AM-4:00PM. Hours and schedule vary, but will generally be 6 days per week with a rotating day off. No worker will be compelled to work more than 6 days in a calendar week. Post-hire background check at employer's expense. Travel to worksite locations in the New Haven, CT MSA and the Bridgeport-Stamford-Danbury, CT MSA.
