Job Duties:
Work under the direction of the Landscape Foreman to install landscape materials at customer sites; install trees, shrubs, perennials, decorative rock, landscape mulch and plastic edging using manual hand tools; load and unload trucks with retail products such as mulch, dirt, sand, or related hard goods and equipment at customer site and landscape distribution center; clean truck cab; clean truck dump box and tool box and check fluid levels; operate walk-behind front-end loaders or walk-behind machinery such as a TX 400 dingo to install landscape mulch, decorative rock, and dirt and may drive truck and crew to and from customer location. Know and comply with the company’s safety rules, policies and OSHA regulations including injury/incident/near miss reporting procedures. May perform other job duties pursuant to 37-3011, Landscaping and Groundskeeping Workers. F.a.5a-F.a.6b: 35+ hours/week. 13-hour shifts between 5:00 am and 7:00 pm. 5 days per week, Mon-Fri. May work evenings, weekends, holidays, as needed. Schedule (including workdays) may vary. May work more than the guaranteed hours. May work overtime. OT varies and must be pre-approved. F.b.8a: Workers will be paid no less than the wage listed. Employer may pay higher wage rates to workers based on seniority with employer and level of skill. Overtime hours may vary. F.b.9: Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked in Minnesota, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year. F.c.1: The H-2B Temporary Landscape Laborers will perform job duties at the following locations owned by Opp Construction: 4111 40th Ave NW, Fargo, ND 58102 and 3625 N Washington St, Grand Forks, ND 58203 and at multiple worksites within the area of intended employment, including the following counties: Cass, Grand Forks, Walsh, Traill, Steele, Foster, Ramsey and Pembina (North Dakota); and Clay, Polk, Norman, Marshall, Becker, Ottertail, Wilkin and Mahnomen (Minnesota). F.d.1: Employer will provide daily transportation from 4111 40th Ave NW, Fargo, ND 58102 and 3625 N. Washington St. Grand Forks, ND 58203 to and from worksites, or employee may report directly to the worksite on their own. F.d.4: Workers have the option of employer-provided housing for $500 per month, and if elected, employer will deduct costs from worker’s paycheck. Workers also have the option of securing their own lodging.

Able to work in outdoor conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, cold, rain, and wind, along with exposure to dust and concrete. Regularly work near moving mechanical parts and near high noise levels. Able to work bent over for long periods of time. Excellent time management skills. No formal education, training or experience required. On-the-job training will be provided. All new employees are pre-employment drug tested for amphetamine/methamphetamine, marijuana, cocaine, opiates and phencyclidine.
