Job Duties:

Follow planned landscaping designs and guidance to install sod, grass, plant trees, shrubs, flowers or foliage, rock gardens, ponds, decks, drainage systems, irrigation systems, retaining walls or enclosures. Plant seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, or shrubs, and apply mulch for protection, using gardening tools. Place any rocks, stones, or other garden décor. Attach wires from planted trees to support stakes. Prune or trim trees, shrubs, hedges, and rake, mulch, pick up debris before mowing and edging. Water trees, shrubs, or plants, using sprinklers, hoses, or watering cans. Maintain areas by aerating, weeding, grubbing, or trimming around flower beds, walks, or walls. Mark areas for each design placement. Remove or install any dirt, sand, or rocks. Spread straw over seeded soil to hold soil in place. Load and unload plants, trees, shrubs, mulch, tools, and equipment necessary. Provide proper upkeep and maintenance of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, or other grounds features. Remove or shovel snow from walks, driveways, or parking lots, and spread salt in those areas. Maintain and repair greenhouse tents that house plants. Cover tree and plant inventory to winterize for dormancy in off season. Use and operate hand and power tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, weeders, edgers and hedge or brush trimmers, mowers, tillers, tractors, snow blowers, electric clippers, sod cutters, pruning saws, skid steers, compacting excavators, aerators, trenchers, and other specialized equipment.
