Job Duties:

Will assist skilled tradespeople in the excavation and forming of residential swimming pools, may also include installation of tiling patterns on pools. Will set forms to hold concrete; check that forms are properly constructed to architects specifications; spray concrete from gunite machine into forms; after gunite concrete is sprayed will spread level and smooth concrete using basic concrete tools such as levels, shovels, and trowels; Chip, scrape, and grind high spots, ridges, and rough projections to finish concrete, using pneumatic chisels, power grinders, or hand tools; wet concrete surface, and rub with stone to smooth surface and obtain specified finish; be able to read blueprints; be able to signal drivers and other employees to direct gunite spraying into specified areas; check concrete to make sure it is properly aligned and at proper depth; clean equipment and work areas. All tools provided by employer at no cost to the worker.
