- Job Duties:
- A carpenter helper in a glass installation company primarily supports the skilled glazier by preparing the worksite, handling and transporting materials like glass, aluminum profiles, and sealants, assisting with installation tasks, performing general cleanup, and maintaining equipment. Assist in cutting, shaping, and fitting glass, install safety components like scaffolding, and follow strict safety protocols for handling glass and working at heights. Work Preparation & Site Management Site Preparation: Clean and prepare installation sites by removing debris and hazards to create a safe working environment. Material Handling & Assistance Loading & Unloading: Safely load and unload glass panels and other building materials, ensuring they are transported to and from the work area. Material Transport: Move materials like extrusions, sealants, and hardware to the specific installation location. Assisting Installers: Work under the direction of glaziers and supervisors, assisting in the installation of glass and its related components. Glass Handling: Help with the careful handling of glass sheets, which requires precision and care to avoid damage and injuries. Safety & Housekeeping Following Safety Standards: Adhere to all company policies and safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe lifting techniques. Equipment Maintenance: Keep tools, machinery, and the worksite clean and in good working order. Debris Removal: Maintain the cleanliness of the work area by sweeping and removing all trash and debris generated during the installation process.
