Job Duties:
Perform a variety of attending duties at amusement facility (traveling carnival concessions), serve customers in eating places that specialize in fast service and inexpensive carry-out food carnival settings food stand, on-site clean and organize, prepare simple daily food items and beverages-typical carnival foods such as sausages and pizza, using proper safety precautions and sanitary measures. Sausages are placed on the grill and tongs are used to turn during grilling and are used to pick up sausages that are done, and placed on plates. Peppers and onions are sliced using knives, Pizza crusts are thawed, brushed with pizza sauce and topped with pre-shredded cheese, pepperoni, peppers and onions; and placed on conveyor of pizza oven. When baked, a pizza cutter is used to make slices which are placed under heat lamps. Served on plates or boxes. Following simple specified instructions: Set up-take down booths by opening awnings, putting up signage and flags utilizing a ladder, hammers and screwdrivers. Takedown will use the same tools in reverse order of setup. All required tools are provided. Stock booths with food items according to a provided check list. Using basic cleaning supplies and following proper safety precautions and sanitary measures cooking utensils are washed and put away. The interior of trailers is cleaned; ensure all items are cleaned and stored in a specified safe manner for transportation. Attend and Maintain equipment by following simple specified instructions for equipment utilized. Check for any food service equipment not working properly and report to maintenance personnel for repair or replacement. For example, watch for damage to electrical cords and report issues as needed. Hours, schedule and days may vary (Sample shift time: 10am-7pm, 1-hour unpaid break). Extra hours may be required or available, will include weekends and holidays. 40 hours per week offered. Work needs (i.e., hours, days, schedule, location, and work positions) vary. Work needs subject to industry practice and are not guaranteed per day, per week, per schedule, per location, or per worker, e.g., rainouts, brief periods without scheduled events, event dates and hours set by agreement with sponsor and subject to change (based upon adverse weather, hours of operation, day of the week, attendance, size of the event, school schedules, amount of equipment in operation, staffing, etc.), and unforeseen cancellations. In the event of approved, overlapping events, work needs may cause workers to be adjusted. Pay varies based on location of each worksite, $14.10 -$21.74 an hour. No overtime is expected, but if work necessitating OT occurs, it will be paid in accordance with applicable Federal, State, and Local laws. Pay received weekly, single workweek used for computing wages. Employer reserves the option to provide additional compensation for performance and tenure or may increase wages based on changes in market conditions. No education or experience required. Employer may increase wage based on experience, change in market conditions, and/or provide additional pay for performance and tenure. Pay received bi-weekly, single workweek used for computing wages. Travel required and provided to Maricopa, Pima Counties, AZ; San Diego, Ventura, Los Angeles, Sacramento, Santa Cruz, Kern, and Monterey Counties, CA; and Kootenai, ID. Must commute from home at prior worksite to next worksite. Work is performed outside in all weather. Travel provided to all events as per itinerary. Daily commuting not provided when traveling from employee’s home to prior worksite and/or to next worksite. Employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, equipment and uniform required to perform job.

The job requires that the applicant be qualified, ready, willing, able, and available to perform during the entire employment at the designated worksites under adverse weather; to enter into and comply with employment contracts; to follow workplace rules; and to meet job performance standards. Must comply with grooming requirements and dress code. Must be able to pass food service standards testing (training provided) ability to learn and follow safety standards with respect to equipment. Subject to discharge for cause. Must be willing to work up to 7 days/wk. Post-employment background check, pre-employment/post injury or incident drug test required, cost paid by employer and applied equally to all workers U.S and foreign/H-2B.
