Job Duties:
Festival Food Service Workers prepare and serve food and beverages at concession stands, food booths, and mobile food units at fairs and festivals. Duties include simple food preparation, such as assembling items and using basic concession equipment, including grills and fryers, under supervision and according to instructions. Tasks may include dipping and frying corn dogs, serving hot dogs to order, frying cheese curds, and preparing and serving lemonade and similar concession items. Additional duties include taking customer orders, receiving payments, making correct change, and providing fast, courteous customer service. Workers maintain clean and organized work areas, restock supplies, and follow basic food safety and sanitation practices. Work is performed at multiple temporary festival and fair locations. On-the-job training is provided. No supervisory duties are required. Job Requirements: No formal education or prior experience is required. Applicants must have basic math skills for cash handling and must be available to work weekends and holidays. Workers must be willing to travel to different work locations as required by the event schedule and reside in shared, employer-provided housing while on assignment. Work Hours and Schedule: Approximately 40 hours per week. Work is performed in two shifts, depending on event needs: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Workdays and hours may vary by event location and schedule and may include weekends and holidays. Overtime may be required during peak event periods in accordance with applicable wage and hour laws. Meal breaks are provided.

NO FORMAL EDUCATION OR PRIOR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED. APPLICANTS MUST HAVE BASIC MATH SKILLS FOR CASH HANDLING AND MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS, LIFT 30 LBS. WORKERS MUST BE WILLING TO TRAVEL TO DIFFERENT WORK LOCATIONS AS REQUIRED BY THE EVENT SCHEDULE AND RESIDE IN SHARED, EMPLOYER PROVIDED HOUSING WHILE ON ASSIGNMENT. TRAVEL IS REQUIRED TO MULTIPLE TEMPORARY FAIR AND FESTIVAL WORKSITES WITHIN THE MIDWEST REGION, INCLUDING MINNESOTA AND NEIGHBORING STATES. TRAVEL OCCURS PERIODICALLY BASED ON THE EVENT SCHEDULE, TYPICALLY EVERY 12 WEEKS. WORKERS TRAVEL WITH THE EMPLOYER TO SCHEDULED WORKSITES AS PART OF NORMAL BUSINESS OPERATIONS. PRIMARY WORKSITE ADDRESS: 4008 220TH ST W, FARMINGTON, MN 55024 (DAKOTA COUNTY). WORKDAYS MAY BEGIN/END EARLIER OR LATER ON ANY GIVEN DAY DEPENDING ON SEASON DEMANDS OR WEATHER CONDITIONS. WORKERS MAY BE REQUESTED TO WORK ADDITIONAL HOURS, WEEKENDS, HOLIDAYS, AND THE SABBATH DEPENDING ON NEED.
